1. Mycelium Leather (Mushroom Leather)
Mushroom mycelium is cultivated with straw and wood chips to form fabric base in 7 days. Its texture is comparable to top-grain genuine leather. No animal slaughter is involved, and it is fully biodegradable. It withstands up to 50,000 abrasion cycles, applied for high-end luggage and leather garments.
2. Living Cordyceps Self-healing Fabric (Developed by the Chinese Academy of Sciences)
The mycelium retains dormant activity. When the fabric is torn, the cut can self-heal once nutrient solution is dropped on it. It features a built-in nano hydrophobic and antifouling layer, and naturally degrades within 40 days after disposal.
3. Bacterial Cellulose Fabric (Bacterial Silk, Team of Academician Xu Weilin)
Using sugar water as nutrients, bacteria grow into a complete piece of fabric directly within 5–10 days. It feels comparable to premium mulberry silk and boasts far higher strength than ordinary silk. No silkworm raising or silk reeling is required, delivering extremely high production capacity.
